Ans.1(c), External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation to Islamabad for the SCO Summit to be held in 15th and 16th October. Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed this at a media briefing in Delhi this afternoon.
Ans.2(c), Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has emphasised the government’s commitment to fiscal discipline. Speaking at the Kautilya Economic Conclave 2024 in New Delhi this morning, the Finance Minister said, the fiscal deficit is estimated to decline further from 5.6 per cent in Financial Year 2024 to 4.9 per cent in 2025.

The report, developed in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), highlights India’s growing leadership in clean energy and its focus on creating green jobs that drive economic growth.

The sharp increase in forex reserves strengthened India’s ability to cushion against global economic uncertainties and provides greater stability to its currency in the face of volatile international markets. According to the latest RBI data released today, India’s gold reserves rose 2.184 billion to 65.796 billion dollars. The special drawing rights with the International Monetary Fund increased by 8 million to 18.547 billion dollars.
